All-IUFRO Conference Plenary “Forest Degradation and Restoration”

A plenary session on "Forest Degradation and Restoration" will be hosted on 22 September 2022, 16:15-18:00 (GMT+2) in Vienna, Austria during the All-IUFRO Conference 2022 "Forests in a Volatile World - Global Collaboration to Sustain Forests and their Social Benefits".

Forest degradation is a global phenomenon aggravated by global change. This session aims to bring together people working on issues related to forest degradation, including substantial tree mortality, failed forest rejuvenation, and loss of forest productivity and their implications both at a stand and the landscape level. Contributors will report instances of forest degradation and how these have been addressed via landscape restoration measures or transformative actions.

This session is organised by IUFRO Task Forces “Transforming Forest Landscapes for Future Climates and Human Well-Being” and “Monitoring Global Tree Mortality Patterns and Trends”.

To join, please register for the conference (virtual participation is free of charge).
