ROAM: Online Step-by-Step Guide

The Restoration Opportunities Assessment Methodology (ROAM), produced by IUCN and the World Resources Institute, provides a flexible and affordable framework approach for countries to rapidly identify and analyse forest landscape restoration (FLR) potential and locate specific areas of opportunity at a national or sub-national level.

This online ROAM resource takes a step-by-step approach, providing one page for every prescribed step in the ROAM process. There are three separate phases in the ROAM process:

  1. Phase 1: Preparation and Planning
  2. Phase 2: Data Collection and Analysis
  3. Phase 3: Results to Recommendations

These phases are supported by introductory pages which discuss the rationale for large scale landscape restoration, as well as a final 'Moving Forward' text on what might happen after your ROAM process.

On the right of every page, you can find submenus that offer:

  1. Links to the different sections and pages
  2. Downloadable content
  3. Contact details in case you require support or guidance in your ROAM process.
