Innovative Approaches for Monitoring Forest and Landscape Restoration

Nov. 28, 2017 - Dec. 14, 2017

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is organising the online knowledge sharing forum “Innovative Approaches for Monitoring Forest and Landscape Restoration” (FLR). The inaugural webinar will be held on 30 November 2017. In addition to the webinar, the online forum includes a 2-week facilitated online discussion from 28 November to 14 December. English will be the working language of the knowledge sharing forum.

This 1,5 hour event aims to answer these questions:

  1. Which innovative technologies currently exist for monitoring?
  2. How can we make the best use of these innovative tools?
  3. How can we ensure people participate and use these tools to monitor?

The webinar is organized for practitioners of Forest and Landscape Restoration (FLR), especially:

  • National focal points on FLR
  • Academia
  • Private sector
  • Civil society organizations working with communities on FLR implementation

In addition, the following groups may find the event useful:

  • Monitoring and Evaluation experts from FLR projects
  • Government officers responsible for monitoring and reporting on FLR, climate, and the Sustainable Development Goals

All participants will have the opportunity to remain members and form a new FLR Mechanism community of practice focusing on monitoring.

In addition to the webinar, the online forum includes a 2-week facilitated online discussion from 28 November to 14 December.
